Small Craft Consultancy Ltd is a business founded on a blend of technical knowledge and practical experience. We can provide expertise in the fields of inland waterway and sea-going craft.
Principal consultant Jonathan Leask qualified as a small craft designer in 1979 and has worked in a variety of roles in the marine industry since then. His experience includes design, construction and repair of a range of different types of craft.
As Midlands based RCD consultant and surveyor for CE Proof Ltd, he worked on a variety of projects including American sports boats, inland waterways craft, sailing vessels and motor yachts. He left CE Proof in 2005 to set up Small Craft Consultancy.
Jonathan Leask is registered as an incorporated engineer with the Engineering Council, is a member of the Small Ships Group and an Affiliate Member of the Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association. He is also an approved Boat Safety Scheme Examiner and a member of both the British Marine Federation and the Federation of Small Businesses.

Area of operation

Small Craft Consultancy has excellent communication routes by road and air from its base in the Midlands. For survey work, we cover locations within a 100 mile radius of our base, but will travel beyond this radius for larger craft. For RCD work, we will travel as required provided the project is of sufficient size to warrant this.
