Small Craft Consultancy is based in the Midlands from where it provides a range of professional services for boat owners and boat builders whether private or trade. We have experience of working with most types of craft and in-depth knowledge of design and construction enables Small Craft Consultancy to offer survey and consultancy services for most types of small craft whether they are intended for inland waterway or seagoing use. Our RCD Guidelines manuals for narrowboats and Dutch barges have proved invaluable to clients who purchase shells to fit-out themselves. Whatever the project, our clients receive a level of service which we think is second to none. We compile technical documentation and reports which are clear and concise and are presented in a professional format. Our clients range from major boat builders to novice boat owners and we tailor the service to suit their expertise. In particular, DIY boat fitters find it reassuring to have somebody at the end of the phone who can give them good advice on virtually every aspect of boat building.

Professional boat builders want to build boats rather than spend downtime in the office preparing the documentation. We
offer cost effective solutions which minimise time spent on the certification of new craft. If we are involved at the start of a
new-build, we can provide initial structural assessments and ensure at the design stage that the completed craft will meet
all the statutory regulations. We will then go on to prepare all the necessary documentation and liaise with Notified Bodies
if required.
